I'm lifting more than I ever did when I lost a bunch of weight in 2005. It's obviously hard to build muscle with my weight, activity level (elipictal 15-30 minutes 5x a week, 2 flag football team and dodgeball) and a 2000-2500 calorie daily intake. I'm supplementing with about 60 grams of protein most days, not nearly enough according to the experts but I feel it's better than nothing. My strength has improved and I can tell there has been some gain muscle wise.
I've pretty much stuck to the same foods 4 days a week.
1 Yogurt
1 Low cal energy drink
1 Breakfasty type protein bar
1-2 Bananas
0-1 Apples
1 Lean Cuisine Pizza
2 100 calorie packs of Doritos
1 100 calorie pack of cookies
2 string cheese
some wheat thins or triscuits
1 turkey sandwich with 1 slice american cheese
maybe a lower cal ice cream treat (50-150 cals)
1-2 milk and protein mix
I haven't grown tired of it yet. The only fast food I've done is Subway and Baja Fresh.
Weekends are harder for me but am still doing decently. I'm done typing now. I am tired and am going to a nice restaurant then a concert. I'm on 13 hours sleep for the past 3 nights, tonight won't help.

Time for a weigh-in
I'm down to 256. I shouldn't be disappointed, I've lost 7 pounds in 7 weeks. at this pace, I'll be back to my birthweight in October 2011. but I should've dropped these easy pounds quicker.

Blech
What a shitty fucking workout this morning.
I felt like I was in a perpetual slow motion, like a dream sequence of Warning and Pujols running toward each for a tight embrace as soft music played. I couldn't get anything going.
Then on top of that my knee was hurting. I had been wearing one of the jumper's knee bands but it tore up pretty good a couple of weeks back during a football game and now it's hurting again. I guess I can surmise that the damn thing worked and it wasn't just an accessory.
Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
As an aside, I was going to do the Hydrostatic body fat test so I could get a good indicator 3 months down the road when they returned. But the fuckers would only take a check. I don't use checks, in fact don't have any. It's 2007, take a fucking credit card, a debit card or how about currency? Fuckers.

I've given up fast food for Lent, this should help. I've got the biggest gut of my life right now. The first 6 weeks of 2007 has been awful with work and time has just not been there. I'm back in the game now and looking forward to really shreddin off some fat over the next couple weeks.

Week 6 Weigh In!!!
It has been a loooong weekend and an even LONGER week. I fell behind on EVERYTHING this week. Workout, eating regiment, AND SCHOOL. I have got to get my "MOJO" back. I'm in a little bit of a rut working out and running. It started to get more like a "chore" than anything else. I know it's mostly a mindset, and I need to fix that... However, I digress. We are here for the WEIGH IN!! My current weight is 256! A current weight loss of 0! I know I must not get discouraged. I physically feel exhausted and I need a revival in the worse way. Hopefully, I'll push through!! Best

These are the days
No, not the 10,000 Maniacs song but rather the days I hate.
First off I didn't fall asleep until 1:30 AM this morning. The alarm then did it's deed at 5am. Fuck me.
At work I was in spreadsheet hell all day and did a bunch of work all for naught.
On the drive home I pass fast food place after food place and hear commercials for some fresh KFC. Shit. I make it through temptation and still have to go to the gym.
By now it's about 5:15 and the place is a fucking zoo. I'm tired and I pulled an ass muscle doing your mom. I get through my cardio but cuts legs stuff short because it's a constant stream of people.
I really hate people.
Anyhow I feel better having gone and eaten dinner now. Soon I will be the new chesty.
BTW, I actually pulled my ass muscle playing dodgeball, how I have no idea but I did get Player of the Week honors. I feel stronger compared to the fall season. We're 4-0 and have beaten what I think is our competition. I feel a ring coming this session.

Week 5 weigh in
Alright kiddos,
the Superbowl is over, and the bears didn't win, but I am still in good spirits.
Week 5 weigh in brought about a challenge of physical and mental drain, but I feel like I overcame that quite well. Even though I SHOT my diet down like a redneck shootin` "skees",
I still feel like I have a good hold on this new lifestyle. Now the weigh in:
I currently way 256 pounds!! That is a loss of 4 pounds this week!! A total weight loss of of 25 pounds!
Last week i had a goal of breaking below the 260 mark and I did it. Pretty excited about that. Now the Superbowl brought about me having 5 beers, the most i have had since New Years. I wonder if I will lose any this week??? Again the goal, is to lose a pound this week. I hope I do so..

Gym peeves
Grunting- Dude, everyone can see you're pressing 80lb dumbbells, you don't need to draw more attention to yourself.
Attire- Guy, that sleeveless, form fitting Nike shirt might be comfortable but I really have no interest in seeing your nipples. It's like I am in Cancun on Spring Break, only instead of me seeing some drunk 19 year old coed in a wet t contest, it's a 38 year old dude. Very disturbing.
Staff- I've got my headphones on, I'm not looking at you, in fact I don't want anything to do with you. Please don't talk to me or ask me how it's going.
Smells- Older dude who plays basketball, please, for the love of god put some deodorant on.
Locker room- I only use it to wash my hands and use the toilet but when I am in there, I don't want to see your junk. Really, is there a reason you walk around for all the world to see? A towel is a great thing. Nobody is interested in seeing your raisined sack.
Hot chicks- Stop walking by and not talking to me.

Scales are evil.
I have purposely not been weighing myself. I want to avoid the trap of looking at my weight and having that be my measure of success. That said of course since it's been a couple of weeks I decided to hop on and come to discover I've lost about 10lbs.
I've cleaned up my diet but and not being all nazi like. I'm not counting calories but I try to have an idea about everything I put in and am shooting for somewhere around 2000-2500 a day.
I'm going about it differently than Shane. I'm doing weights a fair amount, trying to expand into new machines or exercises and this past week actually cut back on the Elipitical and only went 20 minutes instead of 30 on days I made it to the gym (Mon, Tues, Wed and today). I've compensated by starting out and progressing faster than normal though. According to the calorieometer (my word) 0n the machine that equate to burning about 500 vs the 650-680 going 30 minutes.
I imagine I'd have lost more poundage had I been skipping the weights and the protein shakes but my goal isn't about a number.
